Loving Learning: the Campus School Experience, 1899-1967

Loving Learning is a video documentary about the elementary school created in 1899 as part of the State Normal School at New Whatcom - later Western Washington University.

It was a 'model' school for local children, an exemplary public school and a place for training teachers.

A companion to the video is a special edition of the Journal of the Whatcom County Historical Society, "Model School: A History of the Campus School at Western Washington University, 1899-1967," by Marian Alexander, also available in Special Collections.

The video is a professional production by local Black Dog Productions, and is a pleasure to watch, starting with the rousing song, "Hail Whatcom Normal." Includes interviews with Campus Schoolers, historic photographs, and many memories.
