Western was founded as a teacher training institute opening its doors in September 1899. Integral to teaching teachers was having elementary school students to teach. Thus a model grade school on campus began at the same time and lasted through the spring of 1967. Featured here are photos and student work and other realia documenting some of that experience. Special thanks to Jim Hildebrand, Florence (Winsor) Helliesen, Julie (Lewis) Domingo, and Jerry Punches for the display items.
