Art for the Heart
to support community based partners
Midday this Wednesday - Friday, Feb. 8-10, there will be a table on Haggard 2 by circlular staircase for a class project called “Art for the Heart”.
WWU stu dents, faculty & staff are encouraged to make valentines which will be distributed to Bellingham’s homeless community.
The concept is to spread the act and feeling of love, & to help deconstruct the stigma that Valentine's Day is a time for couples and romantic love, that love is for all people, at all times, in all places.
The project plans to tie two other communities in Bellingham together, the homeless and college students. Many students either want to help or are already helping others. By providing a space where students can take a few moments to pay it forward and spread some warmth, this enables an easy way to make a small difference, since many who want to either can't or don't fit time in their days to do something greater.
