A display honoring Western’s past presidents was recently installed on 4 Central. This display was initiated by former President Karen W. Morse and includes a gallery of presidential portraits as well as exhibit cases.
The cases will feature rotating displays covering an individual presidency, or significant issues or events of a particular presidency. This will provide the students, faculty and staff at Western an opportunity to learn more about their shared history.
Photos are from both the WWU Libraries Special Collections and the University Archives and Records Center. Current exhibit materials were loaned by former President Karen W. Morse.
Many were involved in turning the idea into reality. Special thanks to Sarah Clark-Langager, director of the Western Gallery, for her advice.
The Carpenters Shop transformed the bookcases into exhibit cases and mounted the presidential portraits.
The presidential portraits were created by Sherman Bronsink.
Thanks to Marian Alexander and Rick Osen for their help on the project.
