"Of Flowing Waters"
2010 Exhibit: The Paul and Mary Ann Ford Fly Fishing Collection.
This year's exhibit displays 26 books about fly fishing on American creeks and brooks, streams and rivers--flowing waters. Included are works by the fly fishers who have pursued their sport from cradles of fly fishing in the East to fly fishing frontiers in the West. The books reflect immense change of flyfishers' attitudes concerning how to preserve good fishing as the sport grew beyond the confines of private clubs and "catch and keep" and entered into the era of environmental responsibility and "catch and release." Both actions and attitudes are different today, an evolution vividly reflected in this year's selection of new acquisitions to the Paul and Mary Ann Ford Fly Fishing Collection housed in WWU Libraries Special Collections.
