Every spring since 2004, the Teaching-Learning Academy has hosted the Academy Awards, an awards ceremony and reception to celebrate individual and collective achievements in teaching and learning at WWU and beyond.
The 2015 Academy Awards Reception will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd, 4:30-6:00 pm, in the Library's Fourth Floor Reading Room. For 2014-2015, we have focused on "How can we reduce barriers to life-long learning across disciplines and communities?" The program includes light refreshments, followed by the awards ceremony and a presentation on this year's study of the BIG Question. Dressing up is encouraged, and we would greatly appreciate RSVPs to Shevell Thibou, Shevell.Thibou@wwu.edu.
Every year, members of the Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) recognize individuals/groups who contribute to the learning culture at WWU in terms of the big question we are studying for the year. TLA members can recognize as many individuals or groups as they like. Our goal is to recognize widely, so everyone who is recommended with an appropriate rationale (based on the TLA's BIG question) receives an award.
