Send Us a Draft - Instructions
The Writing Center invites writers to submit drafts online for response. Online writing assistants are prepared to consult on a wide range of writing tasks-- from resumes and application letters to essays and research projects.
Writing Assistants will respond to drafts as a whole in an e-mail with an embedded link to an audio response. (In the case of special need, a written response may be requested.) We read with your main concern in mind, so it helps us when you pinpoint your that concern on the submission form. As always, we prioritize clarity in meaning and organization and then issues of grammar and punctuation.
Below is an example of an oral response. If you cannot see the video below, you may need to download the latest version of Flash.
*** NOTE: If your computer is not equipped or you specifically need written response, please check the appropriate button in the submission form below--and allow extra response time.***
We can generally respond orally within 48 hours. Written response, holidays, and peak demand may mean a longer turn around. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to papers received after dead week or during school breaks. The Writing Center welcomes drafts from writers outside of Western, but student drafts will be given priority over all external submissions. All Western drafts will be responded to in the order in which they are received.
