Permanent Exhibits at Western Libraries
The Paul and Mary Ann Ford Pueblo Storyteller Collection comprises thirteen handcrafted figurines created by artists from the pueblos of Jemez, Acoma, and Cochiti, using clay from their local hillsides. Each pueblo contains different local clays from which the figures are made, as well as different traditions that inspire the painted designs and physical motifs. Family traditions also play a part in how figurines are produced, with techniques passed down through the generations.
