AI in Library Databases Notice

Western Libraries provides access to electronic resources such as articles, ebooks, and streaming videos across a variety of platforms. Many of these platforms now include generative AI features such as natural language search capabilities or text summarization tools. We continuously monitor our platforms for new AI tools, though providers may not always notify us of changes.

We do not subscribe to any additional AI features on our electronic resource platforms. While some platforms allow us to deactivate embedded generative AI tools, others do not. Platform providers otherwise control the configuration and maintenance of these tools.

You are responsible for adhering to applicable syllabus, university, or publisher policies governing the use, disclosure, and citation of generative AI in your teaching, learning, research, and creative activities. Use these AI features with caution. Generative AI tools can make mistakes. You should never enter personal or confidential information into these tools.
