American Fly Fishing Literature: 2013 Exhibit -- Part I

Since 2003 Paul and Mary Ann Ford have been supporting the development of a fly fishing collection at WWU Libraries Special Collections. Each year they donate a fine selection of first edition, fine print, limited edition and other specialized books, often on a specific topic.

This year marks the 10th anniversary and they have provided an eclectic grouping beginning with A Bibliography of American Sporting Books -- 1926-1985 by M. L. "Duke" Biscotti, himself a long time lover of fine press books. Beyond bibliography the works include much loved British Columbia author Van Egan, Montana's Sylvester Nemes,  New York's Nick Lyons, and New England's W. D. Weatherell -- all reflecting on fly fishing, fly tying, and all the joy of sport and place. In addition Paul Ford has written a delightfully annotated guide to the featured books, a must read in and of itself!
