Audubon plates on display

Posted on: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 - 10:59am

Selected Audubon plates are on display for a limited time in the  Skybridge.

The Western Libraries Special Collections owns a limited edition printing of the original water-color paintings by John James Audubon from Birds of America. Normally, kept in loose plates in a wooden cabinet, selected prints are on display in coordination with the 2012 WWU Children’s Literature Conference.

Due to the fragile nature and light sensitivity of these plates, they will only be on display for the week of February 20 – 27.

Our collection of plates, published by the New York Historical Society, is a gift of Joe and Roberta Eblen in honor of their daughter, Dr. Anna Eblen, Communication Dept.
