National Poetry Month

Posted on: Tuesday, June 1, 2010 - 10:00am

  April is National Poetry month.

Enjoy the Poetry Display in Wilson Library or peruse our collection of poetry in the library, many works by our own Western Faculty!

Be sure to check out our newest sculpture exhibit, Bloodroot: Transcending Paradigms of Domination and Greed, on the second floor of Wilson Library.  Bloodroot was created by WWU students using all local, gathered, and recycled materials.  Surrounded by prayer flags of poems, this sculpture explores the idea of women transcending oppresion and incarceration. This is a striking exhibit not to be missed!  Be sure to watch the Library News for more information on this exhibit and the accompanying event coming soon!

Sign up for a "Poem a Day" @

Or, each day during National Poetry Month, will feature a previously unreleased track from their Audio Archive for one day only. You'll have 24 hours to listen. Visit their website for more video & audio clips.
