Women in Sport at WesternCelebrate Women's History Month and take a look at our new Women in Sport at Western collection online.  Western Washington University has a rich tradition in women's athletics. From the earliest days of the institution, women played sports of all kinds, both casually and competitively.

Special thanks to Marian Alexander, Associate Professor Emeritus for obtaining the NEH grant and for leading the development of the project; to Tamara Belts, Special Collections Manager and project manager for the Women in Sport Collection, to Peter Smith, Digital Initiatives Librarian.  And heartfelt thanks to Alex Wenrick, Student Assistant Extraordinaire who spent hours scanning and processing the negatives, photos, and textual documents; and to Sandy Celec, Lesley Lowery and Kris Rex (all Catalogers Extraordinaire) for researching and inputting the metadata.
