Collaborative Dialogue: Art & Identity; Teaching-Learning Academy & Western Gallery

Join WWU students, staff, faculty, and members of the community as together we explore the question: "How do we communicate or express perceptions of our self to those around us?" This collaborative dialogue event will take place online on October 29, 2020 at noon.

Centered around the exhibition, "In Site: A New Realism," this event will highlight the culminating projects created by 10 students graduating from Western's BFA Studio Art program. The artists use diverse and deeply personal visual strategies to conjure new modes of perceiving past and present reality, investigating the ideas of history and identity.

An informational panel featuring one of the artists and WWU faculty will be followed by small group discussions in breakout rooms hosted online via Zoom. All are invited to attend and share their unique perspectives.

This event is hosted by the Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) at Western Libraries and the Western Gallery. The TLA dialogue events offer students, faculty, staff, and community members a chance to come together and explore questions and issues, practice and refine productive communication strategies, and develop interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
