Welcome to our Virtual Study Space!

Remember how you used to go to the library to get work done? Whether it be for tutoring, working on a paper, or collaborating with others, it was a place to get into the right headspace. This online space, hosted by the Tutoring Center and the Hacherl Research & Writing Studio, seeks to do something similar, even if it can't quite be the same.

If you prefer to interact via text-based chat, you can also get help through LibAnswers! Click on the green "Ask Us!" box at the bottom of the page to connect with us.

      General Guidelines and Norms

      • Use of camera and audio is optional, and we encourage patrons to use the space in the way that best fits their needs and comfort.
      • Please keep your microphone muted when you are not actively speaking, and keep background noises to a minimum where possible (We understand that this is not always possible, and will do our best to accommodate your situation).
      • Keep language and behavior appropriate for shared academic spaces: If you wouldn’t do it in the middle of the library, please refrain from doing it here.
      • If you wish to work with a Tutor or a Studio Assistant, let the host know and they will arrange for someone to connect with you as soon as possible.
      • Western Libraries seeks to provide a welcoming and safe environment for visitors; this includes our physical and virtual spaces. For more information, please see the Western Libraries Expectations for Visitors Guidelines
