Welcome to Fall Quarter
Welcome students!
As a first-generation college graduate and former work study student myself, there’s a lot I wish I had known about my college library. Please—do better than I did! With everything from books to bagels, study skills to study rooms, Western Libraries is here to support you on your journey.
Beyond checking out books and finding peer-reviewed articles, you can visit the library to…
- Meet with a writing buddy who can help you work through your papers and essays all quarter long
- Build practical study skills to help you thrive in all your classes
- Borrow a calculator or see if any of the textbooks for your classes are available for free
- Study with friends—or alone—in one of our many collaborative and individual study spaces
- Use a whiteboard, grab food and a coffee, browse student-curated exhibits of rare books, participate in a zine workshop, or prep for a career fair
- And so much more!
We also employ over 100 students annually to work as tutors, help process materials, work with special collections and archives, keep our building open, and more. Check with the student employment office in the fall and the Research & Writing Studio and Tutoring Center in the spring for employment opportunities.
Good luck this quarter! We’re here when you need us.
