Departmental Delivery

Responsibilities

When choosing delivery you are responsible for:

  • Replacement costs of items lost or damaged in transit (to or from the Library)
  • Ensuring secure packaging when returning items by mail
  • Returning loans on time. Items with short loan periods should be returned in person, not through the mail.
  • Items can be returned to the following locations:
    • Under the skybridge between Haggard and Wilson
    • Western Libraries Circulation desk
    • Arntzen Hall (not available during intersession)
    • Campus Services building (not available during intersession)
  • Keeping your e-mail and physical address current in ILLiad and OneSearch to assure timely receipt of all communication and materials.

Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students

We will deliver materials to your department by a Library courier.

  • Choose “Departmental Delivery - FAC/STAFF,” in your ILLiad or OneSearch settings

Scanning Services:

We will scan and send articles and book chapters from our collection to your email.

  • Use the article request form in ILLiad
  • If a scanning request is too long or fails to comply with U.S. Copyright Law, we will loan the item to you instead.

Extended and Outreach Education faculty & students

We will send materials via US Mail. 

  • This is only useful if aren't on campus often
  • It's  faster to pick up items at the Haggard Circulation Desk 

Setting up delivery via US Mail:

  • Select "Distance Ed" in your ILLiad status
  • Select "Departmental Delivery" in your preferred Loan Delivery
