FAQs for Students
Log in to the Canvas page for your course and look for the navigation tab “Library Resources” on the left side of the page. Links to electronic items (articles, book chapters, ebooks, streaming media) will open in a new browser window.
Course reserves are items that are needed to support coursework for specific classes at Western that Western Libraries makes available to all current WWU faculty, students and staff.
Only instructors or their designated representatives can place material on course reserve. Contact them to request additional reserve items.
Please email course.reserves@wwu.edu to report the broken link so that we can troubleshoot it and fix it as quickly as possible.
In some cases, browser extensions can interfere with access, and heavy usage on campus can cause brief slowdowns.
The library can only purchase ebook copies of materials made available by publishers. Unfortunately, most traditional textbook publishers do not sell electronic versions of their textbooks to libraries for institutional licenses and access. Please contact your instructor to find out more about what their options are for supporting your class. The library is very interested in working with faculty to explore alternative course materials to help facilitate student access to materials.
